Quote of the Day

There are two lasting bequests we can give our children. One is roots, the other is wings.

Your Wedding

WHY TO BOOK US

You're not just anybody, and you don't want just anyone's cookie-cutter photographer. Sure, we can do those traditional "posed at the front of the church" pictures (and we probably will do some), but we prefer to be much more candid and natural with our photography where possible. A wedding is something you experience, and your portraits from that day should let you re-live that experience over and over again for the rest of your life. The less contrived they look, therefore, the more enjoyment you'll get out of them in the long run. We call it candid photography, striving toward photo-journalism, with just a hint of artsy-ness thrown in for good measure. In other words, when you get us, you get a little bit of everything.

HOW TO BOOK US

First, give us a call to see if we're available for the date you need. Second, drop by or send a check for $150. This is half the "time fee" listed below, and it will officially reserve your date. Once the fee is paid it is non-refundable unless the event is still more than three months away. If your fee isn't paid, however, your date will not be held.

Please note that if we're doing your wedding, then engagement and/or bridal sessions (outdoors or indoors) will be done without a session fee!

HOW IT WORKS FROM THERE

Before your wedding, we will have gotten a completed list from you that details all the pictures you would like for us to take as well as those you feel are "must have's." In this way, we can judge where we need to be and when. Also, we'll need to discuss where the photographer(s) will be during the wedding itself (for instance, if we'll be allowed in the aisles and/or near the front of the church/venue). Often, this will dictate which pictures we end up getting. The List insures that we have the same priorities, and it also keeps you from forgetting what you want in the excitement of the moment.

A $300 non-refundable photographer's time fee covers up to two hours of wedding and/or reception time, and does not apply toward your portrait order. Half of this fee is paid at the time you book your date, and the other half is paid on our arrival to your church or venue on the day of the wedding. Should your event require more time, additional hours are billed at $100 each.

Within a few weeks we'll have your pictures ready for viewing online. Your online gallery will be accessible only to you (and whoever you give the password to), and can be seen on any computer. You may order any of the portraits in the gallery using PayPal, or you may come by the studio with your order. Please note that you cannot choose images for our custom albums online - this needs to be done in person. Alternately, you may choose the length, size, and type of album and leave the design process up to us - whichever you prefer. All images and albums must be paid in full before they will be ordered.

Typically, the following albums and pictures are standard for the Bride and Groom and their parents:
  - Custom-designed, printed wedding album (several available sizes, from 8x8 to 11x14) up to 40 pages (80 sides)
  - Custom-designed "Mother's albums" (5x5 or 8x8), up to 20 pages (40 sides)
  - 11x14 or 16x20 enlargements of your favorite pictures (typically one of the bride and one of the couple).

If the albums are not of interest to you, then our ala carte pricing applies to all prints you want to order from your wedding.
Portrait, album, and collage orders totaling $500 or more will receive a CD (or DVD) of all ordered portraits free of charge, and the copyright release to reprint them at will.
DVD slideshows of all wedding photographs shown to the client are $200. The slideshow will be suitable for viewing on the computer or on small television screens, but the images will not be printable.
