Portrait Parties
Portrait Parties are a fun and convenient opportunity to capture beautiful, professional images of your children without enduring high-pressure sales tactics or paying a session fee. Since the event takes place at a friend or family member's home, you and your children feel more comfortable, and are able to be more natural.
Parties can be scheduled as stand-alone events, or you can tack them onto existing events such as birthday parties, sleepovers, church gatherings, etc. Every party will have a minimum of six and maximum of twelve sessions. Each guest family is scheduled for a 15-20 minute photography session. In that time period, we will capture as stunning a variety of images as possible. Typically, we set up a small studio indoors and photograph on a white backdrop; however, if your party is reserved for a weekend day, we are also happy to take outdoor portraits. There is no setup required for this, beyond myself and my camera.
During your 15 minute session, images of groups, individuals or a combination of both can be taken. You may even want to include yourself in the photographs. Please keep in mind that we have a very short amount of time to capture your images, and cannot allow clothes changes within the allotted time.
Please note, we will not try to sell you portraits at the party. Buy only the images you can't live without once you've seen them from the comfort of your own home.
Your edited portraits will be available for purchase and viewing 1-3 days after the party in a special party gallery. In order to receive Party prices, you’ll need to order what you want from the gallery within ten days of the party. We accept PayPal payments via the galleries, but if this option does not work for you, you can also drop cash or a personal check off to the hostess or to our studio. Please remember to calculate tax on your order (7%). Should you need to make additions to your order later, the studio will keep your image files for up to a year after the party. However, your party hostess does not receive credit for these late orders, and they will be charged at our regular portrait prices, whatever those happen to be at the time of your order.
After the party, you can view your proofs online at a private address: http://www.prideandjoyphoto.com/galleries/login.php
The page is empty except for a password prompt, which will always be your hostess’ first and last name (all lowercase and run together). You’re welcome to share this address and password with friends and family, of course. Any order they made would also be credited to the hostess/party if it was in the allotted 10 day time frame.
Hostesses work very hard to arrange Portrait Parties, and for hosting it, they earn "Hostess Rewards", which are credits earned from a percentage of total print sales, and redeemable on her own portrait order. Orders must be placed within 10 days to qualify for the Rewards program, and once everyone’s orders are in, we will print out a summary of every dollar spent and assess how big of a reward she gets!
